My January Favourites

Finally an end to January, the only month that seems to have the ability to slide into a time warp and last forever! I say this as someone who has all the reasons to love Jan, it’s my birthday and Edith’s birthday month and it’s a time for a fresh start, something I love, yet it’s just such a drag!

Anyway, I have committed (sort of… I haven’t done it since September BUT this is a new year, new chance to start a trend?) to writing my fave things about the month at the end of it each month. I’ve done this a few times and I’ve always found it a lovely way to reflect and share the things I’ve loved.

So let’s have a look at what I have been loving this month:

My favourite read has been…

Katherine Ryan’s The Audacity for my factual books this month, I loved it and it gave me some of the quotes that I’m doing my best to live my life by moving forwards like “stop asking questions when the answers don’t matter” and “I’ve never cared for the opinions of those who create nothing”. I adore Katherine Ryan’s tone and find her so inspiring. My fave fiction book is a toss up between 2 of Alex Smith’s DCI Kett series and the Disney Twisted Tale Go the Distance from Jen Calonita, which is about Megara from Hercules. Such light, easy reading to break up my crime detective obsession!

My favourite watch has been…

Hmm, this is tough one. I feel like we have watched a lot this month that I haven’t really loved. I’ve watched season 2 of The Witcher and STILL not managed to finish it yet, I just can’t seem to follow parts of it, maybe because the first series was so long ago or maybe because I didn’t pay attention enough. The one thing I really wanted to watch was Discovery of Witches but I haven’t got to it yet either. I am about 2/3 the way through Yellowjackets from Sky Atlantic and I’m LOVING it.

My favourite beauty products have been…

I have been using Gucci Floral Gorgeous Gardinia and I’m obsessed with it. On top of that I’ve been using a silk pillowcase from Midnight Leopard and it really has been lovely to sleep on. I don’t feel like I’ve been using it long enough to say it’s absolutely the reason my skin has improved and my hair isn’t as frizzy but the things seem to coincide.

My favourite hair care product has been…

Without any doubt this is one of the easiest ones to answer this month: I’m using the L’Oreal Dream Lengths Wonder Water and it’s bloody phenomenal. My hair feels lovely and it works as a great conditioner that isn’t making my hair feel weighty or making it more greasy than it already gets on the roots. I’m also using a fancy pants Kerastase shampoo thats meant for oily hair and I’m not finding it anywhere near as effective as the L’Oreal Clay shampoo, but roughly 6 times more pricey!

My Foodie favourite has been…

Spicy Thai salad is THE GOAT of food stuffs. If you aren’t really a salad lover but you are craving something refreshing and delicious, like spicy food and you want a make-in-advance-gets-better-over-the-days then this is the one. I have an instagram reel to show you how here.

My favourite fashion picks have been…

I’ve been feeling very in love with my jeans this month. It’s been colddddd and I haven’t felt like wearing a dress on many days, so I’ve been rocking my balloon jeans. I’ve been coupling it with fitted high neck jumps with three quarter length sleeves and multi-chain necklaces.
