Edith joins Water Babies and we start learning baby swimming!

I just love this picture of Edith - look at that smile! She truly loves the water, and the classes are so much fun!

I’ve been meaning to get this post up for a while now, but I just haven’t had the time! Edith started swimming with Water Babies when she was only 2 weeks old, but we only managed to get one class in before we were took a weekend break, then there was one illness after another, so it feels like she only started a couple of weeks ago as we missed 7 classes!

I managed to get some pictures of us swimming and I just had to share them with you all – though if you follow me on instagram I apologise if there are any double ups!

I’m so disappointed that this picture is so blurry – at the time we were signing a song called Splish Splash – which just has Edie in fits of giggles!

This is a great part of the class, something that really gets the baby’s comfortable with their instructors. Edith goes to Hannah, has a little swim around in a circle to see the other swimmers and comes back to me. Some of the little ones are already waving – so sweet!

This is just after our first underwater swim of the lesson – unlike her brother’s Edith isn’t the biggest fan of being under water yet, though she doesn’t get upset, she’s still a bit too young to see the fun in dunking yourself!

The one thing I love so much about baby swimming, is that it isn’t just about making sure a baby is safe in water (which is of course important) but it’s also about encouraging a bond between you and your child. I love that precious time I have with Edith (and Toby) – I do miss it with Reuben.

So I hope you don’t mind me sharing my little swim sessions, I truly love them and think that if you choose to do one thing with your baby it should be baby swimming!
