I love a unique book. I love a bit of crafting. I LOVE these origami books by Mari Ono!

My first dalliance with these books was the fantastic Origami Farm animals, a beautiful book with 35 farm yard favourites that you can fold out and make in an instant. I love the fact that you can make animals as well as fruit, veg and a scarecrow to protect your crops – its a great way to teach your children about the world’s oldest career farming and what it entails. The book even comes with 50 pieces of origami paper to set you on your way, and if you have never tried origami before, it doesn’t matter, each animal has a skill rating!

Horses, complete with the paper in the back of the book.

That was me hooked and I have since discovered some of her other books Dinogami, Wild and Wonderful Origami, Fly, Origami, Fly, Origami for Children and The Simple Art of Japanese Papercrafts.

The author of these books, Mari Ono, is an expert in origami and all forms of papercrafts. Mari works hard, alongside her artist husband Takumasa, to promote classic Japanese arts and crafts.

You can buy most of Mari’s books on amazon here and amazon uk here.
