What we read :: Little Alf story books for kids by Hannah Russell

What we read :: Little Alf by Hannah Russell via Toby & Roo :: daily inspiration for stylish parents and their kids.

Just before Christmas I went to a local Good Living Christmas Fair with my mum. We have gone two years in a row and I never fail to get so excited by it – the Christmas decor, the local fine foods, the fun of discovering new brands! I love it.

Anyway, while we were walking around we came across Hannah Russell who was selling her award winning story books about a tiny miniature pony Little Alf. Hannah was awarded the honour of being Young Author of the Year and was just 17! Now you never know when you are in the presence of the future J K Rowling, Roald Dahl or Enid Blyton, so when I see an author signing their latest books and we don’t have a copy I always make sure to grab one.

Hannah was lovely and told us about her lovely story books for kids, which were based on her own experiences with her real life miniature pony Alf. We got chatting and I loved that Sher stories were based in places the kids have visited and will recognise from their daily life. It made it really special for me, and I think it would for them too.

The stories are sweet, easy to read and perfect for bedtime stories – which we’re reading at the moment. Hannah has three Little Alf books, one of which is a Christmas book, so we will be revisiting our little horsey friend at Christmas too!

These look brilliant. Such a shame my little boy still doesn’t sit still longer than 5 minutes for a book. Even for one full of pictures 🙁
