How to shop savvy at Tesco Direct (and everywhere!) with My Voucher Codes

Tesco Direct is one of my favourite places to do my gift shopping for the family. Not only does it offer me the chance to save almost 50% (like when I bought Reuben one of the new Allspark transformers for £29 after seeing it in a leading children’s toy shop for £50 which is just one example of many many saving I’ve made over the years) but everything is super convenient and can be done in store during the weekly grocery top up or online using their website. With this is mind when My Voucher Codes asked me to become their Tesco Direct ambassador, I was thrilled. I wrote a few tips for their readers but I figured helping you guys out too would be a good thing – especially just before Xmas.

So what are my tips for spending less and getting more?

  • Look for the own brand.
Edith is going to be getting a shop as one of her main Christmas gifts. We’ve had the shop, tucked away under the bed for 5 years now, with every intention to give it to the boys when they decided to “play shop” but they have never been interested. At all. Edith on the other hand loves it – but you know what is killer expensive? Branded wooden play food and kitchen accessories – but Tesco Direct offer their own wooden toy range and it’s so much cheaper with exactly the same quality. Looking for own brand products allows you to minimise cost all year round.
  • Shop the offers.
Tesco Direct have a range of offers on every week, and we often pop down the toy isle when we nip into store for something as small as some milk, purely to see what offers are available. It’s a great way to save an absolute fortune because most big name toys are on offer at some point, with loads of stocking fillers too.
  • Use your Tesco Clubcard.
I am, admittedly, dreadful at this. I forget my clubcard every time and I know I should use it. Tesco Direct have some pretty awesome products, from major tech and expensive games like the new Nintendo Switch to really lovely homeware products that I know I would love as a gift. Either way, you can earn rewards as you shop with Tesco ClubCard. The more points you earn, even on refuelling your car, the more you can use!
  • Check for the Price check symbol
Whilst Tesco Direct sadly don’t price match their rivals, they do price checks on a frequent basis and if you look out for the “price check” symbol, you will know that there is nowhere else that has the same offer! It’s a great way to save on those unexpected offers.
  • Check for Coupons and discount codes
Coupons are everywhere nowadays, they are in magazines, shops and websites have a plethora of discount codes just waiting for you to use. You can even find dedicated websites like https://www.fantasticvouchercodes.co.uk/ Checking out “Tesco Direct discount codes” in a search engine and you will find tonnes. Make sure you check the code or coupons are valid on what you want to buy and in date.

So those are my tips for savvy shopping via Tesco Direct, one of my favourite brands and one of the best places to grab really decent bargains for kids at Christmas time.
