Saving for Christmas with Iceland’s Bonus Card

Since being introduced to Iceland shopping for the first time at the beginning of the year when I worked on their Eat the Week campaign, I have become a big fan. We’ve had complete family roasts for under £8 (and that’s beef not chicken!), we’ve indulged in curry nights and pies that are quick and easy from the freezer.

Now it’s coming up to Christmas, Iceland is one of my favourite places to shop so that I can save some pennies and spend them all on toys, treats and all the other things we burn our money on at Xmas.

Since becoming an “Icelander” (see what I did there?) I’ve been introduced the Bonus Card in the run up to Christmas. With the bonus card you can load it up with however much you want, and Iceland will give you a reward towards buying something extra – the card that helps you save and gives back. At the moment they have so SO many good offers – not exclusively for Christmas (although I genuinely can’t wait to save and splurge with the special offers at Christmas after going to their Christmas in July event – that chocolate star reveal cake has my name on it!) but for party time all the same. This week I headed into store and bought their Ghost Lollies, Deep dish mini pizzas and prawn mummies ready for some frozen relief at Halloween. Guess what I got? A tub of Swizzles! They have a special offer on at the mo with selected party foods – Buy three packs of party food, Get a Swizzles Tub Free! I’m going to be away all day in London on 31st for the March of the Mummies, but I really want to make sure that we still have our annual Halloween feast and that the trick or treaters (all 2 of them as no one comes round!) are sorted.

The best part (for me anyway, because I know come Christmas I will want all the food!) is you can earn an extra £1 FREE for every £10 you save for a limited time only, and once that limited let’s-help-make-Xmas-extra-amazing offer ends, there is the fabulous continual offer to get £1 for every £20 you save. There really has never been a better time to start shopping at Iceland – and don’t forget it isn’t all about the Christmas party food, though this isn’t to be sniffed at – spring rolls, mini quiches, Indian snack packs… these are the foods that dreams are made of ladies and gents. No, Iceland can offer you a complete shop, from groceries to the freezer supplies (I can personally recommend their own brand frozen steak pies) you can start buying and saving with Iceland now and who knows, by the time Christmas rolls around, you might end up with enough for the whole Christmas dinner.

From saving me time with delicious frozen food that helps me after a mad day at an event to saving me money that I can then use to treat myself, Iceland are still winning for me.
