Pine cone Christmas trees :: Autumn crafts for toddlers

Pine cone Christmas trees :: Autumn crafts for toddlers via Toby & Roo :: daily inspiration for stylish parents and their kids.

Wednesday is usually my ‘no work’ day to enjoy with the kids, or rather, with Toby and Edith because Roo is now at school. We try to do something like visit the zoo or go for a walk in the park, but it’s not always possible when the weather is as awful as it has been. This last Wednesday I decided on an arts and crafts day, with an emphasis on easy pine cone crafts to really get us in the autumn mood. We chose to make a couple of pine cone Christmas trees, and I think they are very cute, just right for a two year old!

How to make Pine Cone Christmas Tree Decorations.

  • Green paint
  • Paint brush
  • Glitter
  • Mini Pom poms, sequins, tinsel, felt wire, ribbon etc

It’s really dependant on the ability of your child as to how fancy you make this! We went super simple, painted our pine cones green and then added some white to the tips to represent snow. We then stuck some Pom poms on and a added a touch of glitter! For our second Christmas tree, we went with felt wires and glitter instead of Pom poms. It’s so simple and the options are endless!

I love Autumn crafts like this because in years to come, nothing means more to a parent, or if you choose to give these as gifts, a grandparent, family member or friend, than looking back and holding this as a real memory of a time when your child was young.
