Organic beauty products from Green People with… Quinoa?

I’ve mentioned a number of times on the blog how much I *love* the organic beauty products from Green People – they smell amazing and are some of the most certified organic beauty products on the market.

They have just launched a fab new quinoa range that I am really excited to share with all of you. Yep, you read that right, a beauty company has launched a quinoa range!! They haven’t branched into food, it turns out that it’s a little known fact that quinoa is good for the outside of our bodies as well as the inside!

I’ve been trying out their new Quinoa & Prebiotics deodorant, which I’m super impressed with. I have to admit, I’m a bit of a stickler for deodorants – I can’t bare to feel sweaty or smell. It is one thing that drives me potty, so if you had said to me before that I would be trying out an “all natural, organic” deodorant, I would have laughed at you. Pass me the chemicals, I don’t “do” natural when it comes to my sweat glands… Yet here I am!

This kept me 100% dry and smells so lovely! It’s a misconception that we need chemicals in order to make deodorant effective, this is no Pinterest fail, rather a carefully thought out natural alternative to your care routine. It works because the probiotics support skins healthy bacteria, which ultimately restricts odor forming bacteria. The salt from Ricinic acid found in Castor oil acts like a sponge and works to keep you dry, while the potassium alum found in volcanic rocks is an antibacterial power house and allows your skin to breath so your pores don’t get blocked and sore!

I find the way this works to be really interesting and it’s totally changed my perspective on natural care products, never again will I be tempted to dismiss them for their lack of chemicals, you don’t need them!

On top of this I’ve (and by that I mostly mean the kids at bath time – hence the picture!) been testing out the divine new Body wash in this range, made with Quinoa and Calendula. It foams up so well, lathering up to glide over your skin like silk and has fast become a firm favourite of mine and the kids. I adore the smell of this, just like the deodorant it’s so refreshing and luxurious. As if all of that isn’t enough to convince you this is gluten free too, so anyone with a gluten allergy won’t be affected.

Personally I think these are brilliant products for any member of the family, but the deodorant struck me as an ideal option for a young teen or tween who has just started wearing deodorant for the first time.
