Home Styling for Spring : Simple changes for big impact.

Home Styling for Spring : Simple changes for big impact.

Styling your home for spring is something that s lot of us do. I know I have – changed up the cushions in the living room, drooled over Pinterest home decor boards like they are chocolate filled tray bakes presented to me by Ryan Reynolds in a dubious state of undress and the such.

There are a few things that you can do though that really make a difference in any seasons, not just home styling for Spring.

Here are a few tips for the various rooms in your house and how to spruce them up a bit.

Candles:

Candles are the flowers of the lazy person world, which means they suit me perfectly. I am a huge lover of scented candles and they are ideal for adding a new least of life for somewhere like the bathroom. Please don’t think, mothers of the world, that you will be lighting them any time to relax in the bath – no no, these are purely for show. I have a natural stone vibe going on in my bedroom so these shades of brown coffee scented candles are lovely for that room, it’s all about a complimentary colour!

Coffee table books instead of ornaments:

You don’t have to be a genius to work out that most ornaments are breakable and styling your home for spring with such breakables probably isn’t ideal. I really love books and I’ve recently squired a few that are designed for the coffee table. The idea is that you leave them out as part of your decor, styling your home in the same way a lifestyle shoot in a glorious magazine would. I love these books here, they are:

It’s not just that it adds a less breakable touch to the house, but it’s lovely for adding a touch of class too.

Vintage storage boxes

Edie is starting to get more and more bits and bobs in her room now, just little trinkets and things that I don’t think she is old enough to treat respectfully. With vintage style storage boxes I can add a little touch of pretty to her room storage. I love this cream storage box because it will go with anything and I think it’s ideal for shoving bits I want out of sight, whilst I can top it with her prettiest toys and ornaments she can’t break!

What are your go to style tips?

I wouldn’t be without storage boxes, with the amount of knick knack things all the children have, it saves me from constantly stubbing my toe on the little bits!

Love the idea of using books as ornaments!! I definitely have enough books to make that a reality in my home!

These are some great ideas. I love the candles. I rarely have candles in my room though because I don’t want to light them for fear of setting the entire room or myself on fire (I’m blind and very clumsy). Glad these are just for show.

I do like the idea of decorating with coffee table books instead of ornaments… even though they are hardly ever read by anyone lol

    • Harriet March 27, 2016 / 12:12 am

That is so true Oliver but they look cute, and (shameless brag alert) one of those books has published three of my articles so it has pride of place and is offered to everyone to read haha! I am kidding I promise! H x

Great little ideas to make a room more stylish. I bought a new coffee table this week, it is narrower than my previous coffee table and it’s the same colour as my floor so my living room looks so much bigger πŸ™‚

    • Harriet March 27, 2016 / 12:15 am

Thanks Claire – you need some coffee tables books then πŸ˜‰ H x
