6 Beds for children that will update their room

6 Beds for children that will update their room via Toby & Roo :: daily inspirations for stylish parents and their kids

Last week we had a couple of episodes of bed wetting with the boys, mainly due to them being poorly and dosed up the eyeballs on cough syrup, calpol and calprofen, but that is another story.

The problem is, when one of them wets the bed it means that two children have now lost a clean bed to sleep in… Of course, in reality I’d be a liar if I said I didn’t go through to the bed room, throw a towel over the wet side, cover it with the duvet and let them other one sleep in blissful ignorance at the other side of their king bed under a blanket, but it doesn’t sit well with me to do that! I’ve never been the mum that was nonchalant about chucking a towel over the wet patch and going back to bed. When they didn’t share beds it didn’t matter, whoever the bed wetter was just came into bed with us, with clean jim-jams. Problem is, if you wake one of them up when they haven’t wet the bed, can you get them back to sleep and can you ALL fit into one bed? No is the answer in case you’re stuck there. No. They would both be awake and that means play time… or worse, talk time. Ugh.

Since they have been sharing a bed this hasn’t been a common occurrence, in fact we’ve been really lucky with bed wetting, but when it does happen I start to think about changing things around for them and of course that means scouring the internet for beds for kids…

As such, I’ve come across some pretty awesome beds, so of course that means I’ve put together a little wish list of beds for children that I think *might* just coax the boys into not bed sharing.

1. Steens L Bunk Bed – £419.99

How cool is this? Plus a funky little space for toys, and later a desk?!

2. Thuka Hit 6 White Mid Sleeper Bed – £679.99

I really like the idea of two of these beds at opposite sides of their room, it defines a space and has it’s own work area/bookcase/toys space so gives them a sense of their own mini room within a room – lasting into teen years for sure.

3. Gami Hangun Cabin Bed£999.00

For the same reason as above I think this is a really stylish way to put the boys into one room and sub divide it.

4. Birlea Oregon Storage Bed – £209.99

I love the extra storage options on this bed – my only worry would be that the bars make it too childish for the boys to really grow with, however if I could detach them that would be great!

5. Thuka Trendy 24 Bunk Bed – £539.99

I love this beach style driftwood sort of wood, so stylish! I really love the shape of the ladder too.

6. Parisot Tam Tam White Bunk – £499.00

I love the bookcase style storage inside the bed here. The boys all have their own special way of sleeping, Toby has a bucket full of teddies that he can’t sleep without and Roo likes to look at his figures from his bed. This would be perfect for them!

I love number 6. Even though I only have Emily, when she grows out of her toddler bed I will be getting her bunk beds. x

Thanks Stephanie, bunk beds will be our next step, though even now while we are at center parcs we’ve had to push their beds together 🙂 H x

I love the Thuka Trendy 24 Bunk Bed with the storage underneath. i also like how the steps come out slightly so it’s not a straight drop down x

Lovely selection of beds. With 2 children in the house now and growing fast I will soon have to look at bed options and I am loving the look of the Parisot bunk bed, love the bookcase style storage.

I think we are slowly edging toward a bunk bed style set up but we can’t quite get them to stop curling up together just yet 🙂 H x

We are totally thinking about beds at the moment as my twins are getting way too big to be in cot beds. I like number 5 as the bottom section looks really close to the ground which would be ideal for very little ones.

Yes Sarah, I think it makes a huge difference to toddlers if its a low rise bed 🙂 H x

We want to get our daughter a midsleeper, one that will fit her chest of drawers and storage unit underneath, simply becuase she is running out of room! They’re such a great idea for space savers! x

Kay they are such a good idea – the one the boys share at the moment is has storage drawers underneath, but its a big bed. 🙂

I LOVE 2 and 3! We’re about to start Toby’s transition to a bed and are getting one from Ikea that’s a low lying bed with 4 posts, then when he’s older you flip it over so it stands on the posts and you can put a desk etc underneath, it’s very cool! Good luck with getting them into separate beds xx

Thanks Hannah – we’ll see how it goes, if they are happy for now I will leave them but I can keep shopping haha! hx

Wow! Amazing bed choices! I love beds like that especially if they have storage units underneath, super handy! Although, I do like the beds with sofas underneath 🙂

I like those beds too – what they are in at the minute is a day bed so I could always shrink it down and pass it on to Edie Rose, then get them something new! H x
